WORK AT MAVEN CREATIVE COMPANY

Maven Creative Company is a creative agency built on the belief that great storytelling changes the way people see brands. From our Los Alamitos Studio, we partner with visionary entrepreneurs, automotive dealerships, and retail and service companies to craft content that connects, inspires, and drives results.

We’re more than a production house. We’re a community of creatives who care deeply about the work we make and the people we make it with. Our team is collaborative by nature, driven by craft, and committed to helping every client show up with intention and authenticity.

What We Value

  • Craft — We hold our work to a high standard, always pushing to deliver content that is thoughtful, polished, and purposeful.
  • Collaboration — The best ideas come from working together. We welcome diverse perspectives, and build on each other’s strengths.
  • Community — Our studio is a creative hub where artists, designers, filmmakers, and storytellers connect. We invest in the people around us, not just our clients.
  • Consistency — Whether we’re managing multiple brand identities or supporting a single campaign, we show up reliably and deliver with integrity every time.
  • Growth — We believe in creating pathways for the people on our team. Many of our contract and part-time roles are designed to grow into long-term opportunities.

Who We’re Looking For

We are always interested in connecting with creative professionals who bring energy, versatility, and a genuine desire to grow their skills and deliver their best work. Whether you’re a designer, producer, photographer, videographer, or community builder, if you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and take pride in doing solid work, we’d love to hear from you.

Our current openings reflect the kind of team we’re building: multidisciplinary, highly collaborative, and deeply invested in the communities we serve.

The standard we hire for

Maven runs on autonomy and trust, which only works when everyone carries their weight without being watched. That means:

  • You own it. Follow through without reminders. If something’s yours, it gets done, and done well.
  • You raise blockers early. We’d always rather hear about a problem on Monday than a missed deadline on Friday.
  • You care about the work and the client. Standard of care isn’t a slogan here; it’s the job.
  • You use AI as a tool, not a crutch. Lean on it to move faster. It should never to replace your own judgment, taste, or accountability for the final result.

If that sounds like how you already work, you’ll fit right in.

Graphic Content Producer

The role

You care (maybe a little obsessively) about how things look, feel, and read: composition, typography, color, hierarchy, and the exact words that make a message land. Just as important, you understand branding: why consistency matters and how a brand’s voice and visual system hold together.

This role sits at the center of our graphic content. You’ll brief our graphic design team, turning ideas and brand guidelines into clear, actionable creative direction. Then, you’ll review what comes back and hold it to a high bar before it ships. On the words side, you’ll develop copy and copy variations that make sense for the channel: ads, web content, and organic social. You’ll partner closely with our ads and web content team (Karla and Princess) to shape that content, and work alongside our social media managers (Bill and Alyssa) across our client accounts and original Maven projects. Video support is minimal, limited to content where typographic design leads, like motion titles and kinetic type.

What you’ll own

  • Write clear, actionable briefs that translate concepts and brand guidelines into work the graphic design team can run with
  • Develop copy variations (from core developed by the rest of the team) tailored to each channel: ads, web content, and organic social
  • Review the graphic design team’s output and give sharp, specific feedback.  You’re the quality gate that catches off-brand details before they ship
  • Produce and art-direct polished, on-brand graphic content: social graphics, carousels, ad creative, web visuals
  • Provide light video support only where typographic design leads (motion titles, kinetic type, animated text)
  • Keep every brand’s voice and visual system consistent and unmistakably theirs across formats
  • Own the creative standard across everything with your name on it

Who you are

  • A strong editor who can adjust copy tone by channel: punchy for an ad, clear for a web page, natural for organic social
  • A genuinely strong eye for graphic design and typography fundamentals
  • A real understanding of how brands work, not just how to make something pretty or catchy, but why it’s right for that brand
  • Skilled at writing briefs that produce complete first drafts and giving feedback that makes our design and video editing team’s work better
  • Fluent in the tools of the craft (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite – especially Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma, and Canva)
  • Self-directed: you deliver finished work and keep the team moving, not first drafts that need chasing
  • Dependable in-office presence and a collaborator people want direction from

Nice to have

  • Prior experience directing or briefing designers
  • Basic graphic design tool fluency to make edits to designs (originating designs not required)
  • Experience with automotive, lifestyle, or multi-brand portfolios

Logistics

  • Location: Hybrid Work From Home with meetings or a desk available at our Los Alamitos studio (Orange County).
  • Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours per week
  • Compensation: $35-40/hr based on experience
  • Review Schedule/Comp: Every 180 days
  • Perks: Function Health Membership, 401k Matching, and Life Insurance Opt-in. (Full healthcare, including dental and vision available if role expands to 32+ hours).  Flexible, creative environment; access to a fully-equipped production studio; real room to grow.

The role

You’ll be the founder’s right hand,  the person who keeps everything moving so the big decisions get the attention they deserve. You’ll start part-time supporting Mia, and if it’s the right fit (we think it will be), the role grows into full-time supporting both Mia and Lalo, our production lead. This is a genuine growth seat for someone who wants one.

What you’ll own

  • Calendar, scheduling, and meeting prep, protecting the founder’s time
  • Inbox triage and drafting; you make sure nothing important slips
  • Task and project tracking in our systems (Monday app for the team + Mia’s Motion). You keep work from falling through the cracks
  • Vendor coordination and follow-up
  • Research, documents, decks, and the occasional errand. Whatever moves things forward
  • Anticipating needs and owning outcomes end to end

Who you are

  • Ridiculously organized and proactive, you rarely have to be told twice
  • Able to ask sharp clarifying questions to sharpen priorities and execute tasks. A good question is a sign of ownership, not a lack of it
  • Discreet with sensitive information
  • A strong writer who can match a professional, on-brand tone
  • Tech-comfortable (Google Workspace, Monday, Motion, and quick to pick up new tools)
  • Hungry to grow into a bigger role over time

Logistics

  • Location: In-office at our Los Alamitos studio (Orange County).
  • Schedule: Part-time to start. Perfect for a working parent, 4-5 hours per day, 5 days per week.
  • Compensation: $28-34/hr
  • Review Schedule/Comp: Every 180 days
  • Perks: Function Health Membership, 401k Matching, and Life Insurance Opt-in. (Full healthcare, including dental and vision available if role expands to 32+ hours).  Flexible, creative environment; access to a fully-equipped production studio; real room to grow.
